are a fucking bitch.
the bad part is, i can understand why some people would write a virus.
they want to exact revenge on someone..
but to test it out they have to spread it out, thus other victims get it.
thus it becomes a big pain in my fucking ass

Personally I think they're just having fun, I don't think they're necessary lonely or vengeful. It's funny as hell in a lot of ways if everybody gets infected by a virus, especially since right now it's still quite avoidable.
I thought the Kournikova virus was hilarious, all these horny idiots opening an attachment from someone they didn't know. FOOLS!
That one was Dutch b.t.w.
Everybody I know right now has had a virus except me, most virusususususss are directed at Explorer and Outlook Express which I don't use. **keeps fingers crossed and knocks on wood**
My time will come I'm sure.

The problem is that so many mail programs open attachments with the message, which is why I'm still using hotmail even if I have several e- mail accounts I could use with a mail program.
My dad taught me well, never EVER open attachments from strangers.
And all you people working in the computer industry shouldn't complain because this shit is making you money.

Hotmail and yahoo are capable of infecting you too, they do scan attachments but you do not know how recent the patches are.
No I am not complaining our company would, hell does make money on other products besides the anti-virus software. So we will get paid anyway, viruses are a small part of security and protection. Besides viruses is used usually in public as a general word for all malicious code. There are worms, polymorphic viruses, visual basic script, macro viruses, backdoors, Trojans, plus many others. Also hoaxes which are not viruses or anything but they can create havoc when some thinks they are infected and spreads the warning and floods the AV sites.
I am in contract with a lot of AV researchers and developers from most AV companies including ones in other countries, and non that I know have nor I create viruses but what some companies that are hard up for business hype up non destructive viruses to create panic so people flock to their site.
Just don't open anything you are not familar with including family mail because your friends and family may not even know they are infected. Change the settings on your e-mail so that the message isn't already opened when you turn on your e-mail. And for the internet there are settings you can change be make you less prone to infection by a site that has been infected. And most important GET A AV SCANNER. There other things but those are the most important.

one detail Lori you forgot
get a AntiVirus program and keep it UPDATED....if you dont keep updated then its almost worse than having nothing since you THINK your safe but instead your leaving yourself wide open with a sense of false security...
Feel like a ad...but my job is to repair computers (one of many jobs) and I see about a half dozen machines a week with the same problems
